Interesting! Particularly that cast - wow. Love Miriam Margolyes.
Unfortunately from reading the early reviews (not great) and watching the trailer it seems to be potentially another stereotypical cliched mid-aged-woman-gets-cancer movie (and gets through it with the support of other middle-aged women and an unreasonably handsome young male doctor, that they’ve imaginatively nicknamed “Dr Handsome” - imagine if the roles were reversed on that one). The novel aspect here is they’ve decided to give her colon cancer rather than breast cancer. I suppose from an awareness perspective I should be grateful for that.
Personally I’d be much more excited to hear, for example, they were making a film of Chadwick Boseman’s life - that is an extraordinary (and true) story that I suspect would contradict a lot of Hollywood stereotypes about cancer.
