I am over 65, so I just made an appointment at Walgreens and had the Pfizer booster--that was my original vaccination--and flu shot at the same time. A few hours after I signed up, actually.

I believe that the screening questions would probably allow an under-65 person with colon cancer to get the booster, if it has been six months since their last vaccination, but if in doubt getting some kind of authorization from one's PCP or oncologist would probably do the trick. In the US, anyway.

My husband is getting his 3rd shot this coming Monday. We’re based in the Netherlands. The gov has begun inviting high risk groups. By January 2022 all 60-80s will be invited and once that cohort is done, it will be open to all 60 and under.

I personally know many people who got their 3rd shot (US, UK, Netherlands, Singapore and Malaysia). Some are doctors, some are older folks (like my parents / relatives), some are young but with underlying health conditions like asthma / high risk.

I got my booster on 10/23/2021. Same as the first time.....Moderna. I wasn't going to mix and match especially since the data coming out all shows that Moderna's efficacy doesn't wane as much as Pfizer's or the J & J. Again I had a headache and an hour or so of muscle aches (woke me up) but got up and took some Tylenol and was able to sleep through the rest of it. I even told them to give me my flu shot at the same time AND both in the same arm. No red or sore arm...yeah! Considering it is half the dose of the first and second shot, I'd say the side effects were pretty darn minimal. Hubby had his right after mine and my 30 year old got his a few days later. Hubby is in the 65+ category and both my son and I work in elementary schools so we qualified that way. Honestly, at the two different pharmacies (we went to Safeway and son went to Walgreens) no one asked for ID or anything. I got my friend (educator as well) an appointment at Walmart and they didn't ask her for anything either. I'd say if it has been 6 months and you want a booster.....go for it. BRING YOUR CARD with you though. They need to either add another sticker (mine was laminated....they just put the sticker on the outside of it) or write down your info. For my friend whose original card was also laminated...they just gave her another card.

Hey Jaynee glad you got boostered !!!!
I actually just got a push notification from the health service up here to book my own booster !
Have not established exactly why ??? age ? interval since last vax ? prior CRC patient ?

I will do the third dose booster, BUTT ... need to space things out as I just had a Flu vax and starting Shingrix soon as well.
I personally always leave 2 weeks between vaxs ... just my Vet training from the old days I guess

On a more personal / positive note ... my son took the family out on a boat cruise this afternoon, dropped a few traps AND
brought me back a fresh Dungeness crab which I cooked with dinner. Going back out tomorrow to pick up some crab and prawn traps he set.

Gotta love fresh west coast seafood !!!!!

Cheers and Harmony

I had very little issue with the booster but I have to tell you I HATED the Shingrix vaccine. I even waited a year between them because of the awful reaction I had.

What booster will you get? I got mine because I work in an elementary school. We are constantly having kiddos have to quarantine. I've been exposed more than once but thankfully, due to my vaccination status, I've not had to quarantine.

I'm so tired of this pandemic! I just want it to go away! Good luck with all your vaccines.

I would take either mRNA vax BUTT will be getting Pfizer 1/2 dose, likely,
which is the typical 3rd dose booster regime so far.

Shingrix vax ? => whenever I can fit it in safely.

Seafood update : I went back out with my son to get crab / prawn traps harvested ... AND ....
added fresh spot prawns to my Paella tonight.

Oh yeah already said that !!!

Cheers all

I've been trying to fit the Shingritz vaccine in for several years! First it was chemo, then it was immunotherapy, then it was covid. I suppose I could do it now, but given that this is an inconvenient time to feel lousy, I may wait until January.
