My kids both know. But I don’t share all the details. They know mainly for future monitoring of their own health. Both will start with colonoscopy at 25. My daughter is premed in college. And was actually doing research and project on colostomy bag in her bioengineering class. I think when you are younger like me / 45. Cancer diagnoses is a shock and not expected. Many other people don’t know how to act and respond. So that’s why I don’t share…

Saltygirl, you don't need to leave the USA, you just need to live in a place without an HOA. I shudder at the thought of living in one of those developments. :D

The pick up failed. So I texted the neighbors apology that we will resolve it ASAP. It was not on their property or blocking anything. It was on our property. They know about my health issues. Yet they still called on us to our association. I feel like moving out of USA tonight. Or start having topless pool parties:-)

While I am all in with the pool party dress code ...
I am also happy to share my hard earned philosophy of life with CRC :

1. Don't let small minded assholes drag you down to their level.
2. Kick ass and take names ... it IS your life after all.
3. Those who really MATTER won't care if there is a problem ... those who CARE too much about a problem ... don't really matter.
4. You are stronger than even you envisioned and sometimes we have to prove it ... even to ourselves.
5. Life's a bitch and then we die ... BUTT ... don't become one along the way.

You may appreciate that I will not have a huge number of "friends" based on my philosophy ... BUTT ...
the friends I have are solid gold. Quality over quantity.

My solution to your problem is :
Move north of 49 AND have whatever kinda pool parties you want to !!!!!

I agree. How about pulling up stakes and moving everything to Prague? Prague is located at 50°5′N 14°25′E. It's north of 49.

Prague is a beautiful city with lots of interesting things to do. It has an Expat Centre, and the people there are friendly.

In New England there is tons of housing that was built by individuals on a piece of land at some point in the last 200 years or so, not by developers in a subdivision. I recommend Maine. I don't think anyone around here would tattle on you for having a woodpile. They probably have one themselves! 8)
