Take me away to that special place - Picture Thread

Postby mobrouser » Wed Jun 19, 2019 1:18 pm

With the forum's permission I would like to start a new thread where members can post images and/or share stories of their special place, special friend, special event or activity that help us forget, however briefly, the affects of CRC on our and our families lives. I know one exists already, and until January it was a fun place to drop in and see and share life from all around the globe. Now it isn't.

I'm at work, so this is the only picture worth sharing that happens to be on my work computer.
I have a collection of orchids. They are blooming when I buy them but eventually the blooms end.
I try to get them to re-bloom, but mostly I have a collection of pots with wonky shaped leaves and air roots sticking out.
This February though I had success!

Happen to be on my computer this a.m. signing up for new medical insurance & saw this wonderful surprise.

I LOVE THIS MOB!!! But I won't win the prize for the title.

Beautiful white orchid & quite appropriate for this 'virgin launching' of new, improved escape.
I always make sure I have white flowers incorporated in my front flowerbeds. It brings natural moonlight to the garden @ night most importantly, but also extends the white from front windows & grey/white/red brick columns on the house into the landscape.

You have uplifted my spirits today.
Thank YOU, my friend,

BS

I would think Axl Rose as he would have written most of the lyrics for Guns N' Roses

I think it's Guns 'N Roses "Sweet Child of Mine" too! :D

She's got a smile that it seems to me
Reminds me of childhood memories
Where everything
Was as fresh as the bright blue sky

Now and then when I see her face
It takes me away to that special place
And if I stared too long
I'd probably break down and cry

Sweet child o' mine
Sweet love of mine

BUT Natasha Bedingfield's "Pocketful of Sunshine" is a nice fit too, even if the words aren't exactly the same.

Take me away (take me away)
A secret place (a secret place)
A sweet escape (a sweet escape)
Take me away (take me away)

Take me away (take me away)
To better days (to better days)
Take me away (take me away)
A hiding place (a hiding place)

There's a place that I go,
That nobody knows.
Where the rivers flow,
And I call it home.

And there's no more lies.
In the darkness, there's light.
And nobody cries.
There's only butterflies.

Yes J-man, Axl with Sweet Child of Mine. :D

I had to Google it but then recognized your alternate Julie. It works too.

I've seen seals before, there are quite a few around Monterey, butt they pale in comparison to that guy.
Kind of makes me want to give him a tummy rub (pink belly as we say around here, usually used in regards to an ornery Frenchie)

Had to do a bit of research on Giant Sea Spiders, yikes those things can get really large.

The color around the jelly fish is beautiful and unexpected.

Thanks to you for posting these and your hubby for taking them. Hope you have more to share.

PS

Birthday pic of the ornery Frenchie. We often think he looks a little like a baby seal.
