Groove/indent/ridge in poop

Since July 2018 (could’ve been there longer) I notice a
Groove/indent/ridge going from the top to the bottom
Of my stool. Went to the GP, he did a DRE and diagnosed
Me with internal Hemorrhoid. The groove would get smaller if the stool was small. However, the groove would stay the same if my stool was large. No bleeding, no mucus, no pain. A bit of soreness and burning around the anus ring. After months of going back and forth to my GP he finally agreed to have me see the Gi dr. Anyone experience this?
