My dear beautiful Mother

Postby Diana17 » Fri Sep 08, 2017 2:49 pm

Dear colon clubbers,

My name is Diana and I am from Costa Rica, I´ve been frecuently coming to read the blog to find answers in desperate times for my mom´s treatment and journey with the disease. I know you don´t know me or have heard of me, but I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the advice, encouragement and solidarity that you all have and gave my family and I during this time.

My mom´s battle ended this past Wednesday after a three year long battle with rectal cancer, she fought the disease like a Champion and is my hero at facing the disease.

I wish all the caregivers and patients to keep the good spirit, fight with all your heart and never ever give up!! I´m glad I found this blog and you, Thank you so so much

Hi Diana, I am very sorry to hear about your Mom. This must be such a difficult time for you and I can understand why she is your hero. She sounds like she was very brave, like so many of the people on here who persevere and endure very long, at times very trying treatments. I understand it's not just the patient who fights through - but it's loving family members and friends as well. My heart goes out to you and your family at this time. Thank you too for encouraging words for those of us trying to find our way and I hope you find comfort and peace in the good memories of your Mom, in time.

Diane,

I am so sorry for your loss. It must be so tough losing your mother. I go through my up's and down's with my mom. Some days I am very strong for her and some days I am weak thinking about what our lives would be like without my mother. I am caring for my mother now age 77 with Stage 3A rectal cancer. I have been trying to be the best advocate, nurse, caregiver, etc. for my mother. I found her a good surgeon at USC but still worried about the pain that she is in following radiation.

If there is any advice you can give to me, please share. thank you and god bless <3
