I just posted some info about this in a response elsewhere, but thought it was important enough to deserve its own thread. If you haven't already, get your hsCRP checked!! There are lots of things that can be done to lower elevated values.

This is one of the tests recommended by Dr Keith Block in his book, Life Over Cancer, (Chapter 15), as a way of checking on levels of systemic inflammation. Maybe some additional markers of systemic inflammation could be added to your list as well if you are going to go to the trouble of having some special blood work done.

Excellent point, OSM. If you can get all these it would be great. My naturopath tests for most of them, although I suspect a conventional oncologist might balk. Yet another reason why a good naturopath or integrative doctor can be worth their weight in gold.

Thanks for the reference, but there is nothing in the abstract to suggest that lowering the CRP would be beneficial.

Good point, Greg. We all will have different levels of comfort when it comes to experimenting with promising but unproven approaches. Given the many health benefits associated with decreasing systemic inflammation, this one is a gamble I'm willing to take. YMMV
