Not sure who is the author of this is but have known it for years, took on true meaning when I was dignosed.

"God grant me the serenity to accept the things I can not change,
The courage to change the things I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference"'
------------------------------------------------
This one is by John Wayne-

"Courage is being scared to death,
but saddling up anyway".

This is one of my favorite threads.. thanks for bumping this up.

Dear Lord in the battles we go through life
We ask for a chance thats fair
A chance to equal our strides
A chance to do or dare
If we should win
Let it be by the code
With faith and honor held high
If we should lose
Let those that live stand by the road
And cheer as we enter your kingdom.

DAY BY DAY!
WE GET BETTER AND BETTER!
TILL WE CAN'T BE BEAT!
WONT, BE, BEAT!!!!!!!!

"Imagine” John Lennon 1971 revised for cancer....

Imagine there's no cancer
It's easy if you try
No hell to go thru
Only a path to peace
Imagine all the people
Living without fear

Imagine there's no chemo
It isn't hard to do
No one would suffer or die
And no surgery too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no deadly tumors
I wonder if you can
No need for sorrow or tears
All of us joining hands
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the joy

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

This was always my favorite quote, from Vince Lombardi, former coach of the Green Bay Packers, it has much more relevance in today's situation rather than it ever did in my career...
"I firmly believe that any man’s finest hours – his greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear – is that moment when he has worked his heart out in good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle – victorious."
(I'd like to dedicate that to everyone here whose status is now NED!)

Ain't no sense worrying about things you got control over, cause if you got control over them, ain't no sense worrying. And there ain't no sense worrying 'bout things you ain't got control over, cause if you got no control over 'em, ain't no sense in worrying 'bout 'em.” - Mickey Rivers (bump, this is a great thread!)

Dance as though no one is watching,
Love as though you have never been hurt,
Sing as though no one can hear you,
Live as though Heaven is on earth.

The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, not to worry about the future, or not to anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly.

Live long and prosper.

Character is what you do when nobody is looking.

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

I wish I had an answer to that because I am tired of answering that question.

Brings back so many memories reading this thread ......so many lovely members no longer with us !
One of my favourite quotes was also a favourite of Jess (jmarrie) who was another way too young member no longer here.
"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf "

Someone asked a short while ago if anyone knew what Gaelens sig: pic meant, don't know if anyone else noticed she has explained it way back in this thread, here it is ............

A traditional Chinese Moon Festival blessing or wish.......Be in harmony with your expectations.
