Hi everyone,
A long time ago, my husband Stephen was dx with stage IV and he died in less than a year after the dx (May 2010). I was on this board pretty frequently, and it literally saved my life as a caregiver.
Fast-forward to today, when I sit in a hotel room overlooking campus. I have returned to get my MFA in Narrative Nonfiction, and to finally realize my goal of publishing what I learned in those fast 11 months with Stephen.
The problem is, I can't remember a lot of details, and I want to be able to confirm or validate them with you guys. I posted a lot here, like I said, and I printed that out years ago into a stack about three inches thick....but not every question I have now is something I asked then (and I asked a TON of questions).
Right now, I'm wondering about insurance coverage. I remember- or think I do- that Stephen had to go through the "typical" protocol of chemotherapy *in order*...even though he didn't respond to any of them in the end. I remember being really discouraged because we could plainly see that the current chemo regimine wasn't working, but were told that if we skipped ahead too fast, insurance may not cover. Is this true or just a figment of my imagination?
