Hi,

I remember reading that Cologuard has a false positive rate of around 12%. I AM NOT saying that your wife had a false positive result. The only way of truly knowing whether your wife has CRC is with a colonoscopy. Colonoscopy is the "gold standard" for diagnosis of CRC. Has she had symptoms (i.e. abdominal pain, blood in the stool, unexplained weight loss, unexplained fatigue, etc.)?

Get a colonoscopy NOW!

Discuss the results with your doctor and see what they recommend. Personally, I would want a colonoscopy just to check if I have a tumor or not.

Yes, I agree with what utahgal7 just said. And in the event that a tumor is found during the colonoscopy,, there are some things you might want to consider doing during the first week or two after initial diagnosis:

What is the false positive rate of Cologuard?
The false-positive rate for Cologuard is 13% or a little over 1 in 10.

If you are located in Southwestern Virginia, are you anywhere near Roanoke? If so, there are some clinics there that do colonoscopies:

Cologuard only shows the presence of blood. There are many reasons for blood besides colon cancer. She should get a colonoscopy to be certain.
