Rock Robster

Postby Bianca10 » Sun Jul 07, 2024 6:05 pm

Hi all,
I’ve wondered whether to post for a few weeks and have now decided that I want to.

I sadly found out a few weeks ago via Facebook that Rob passed away.

He was one of the first people I spoke to when I joined this forum. He was so kind, patient, considerate and knowledgable. He always took the time for others and had such grace.

Some of you may already know this sad news, but for the ones that don’t I wanted to share as this forum is certainly a lot quieter without him, and nowhere near as bright.
Will miss him, and remember him fondly.

This is really sad! Rob was such a great guy. He always took time to share helpful information. His posts provided hope to everyone here on the forum. I truly thought that he was going to beat this horrific disease.

Thank you so much for sharing this news even if it is as others have indicated "devastating". I too thought of him as almost invincible and a role model for sure. If I can take away one aspect I would note his diagnosis was 2018 so he most definitely beat the odds making it more than 5 years.

Rob I am crying for you. You are sorely missed, but you clearly were a fighter to the end and THAT is the message I will keep.

Thanks for posting Bianca. This is so devastating for him, his wife, family & friends. I was worried about Rob after not hearing from him for so long. He was so kind, empathetic and intelligent. He also had such mental toughness and really addressed his personal thoughts and demons on death. He was also so brave in sharing them with everyone here. He was incredible and agree with Joe he won his battle by beating the odds; with his smarts, staying mentally calm, and advocating for and driving his own clinical care.
I am so devastated by this news, and will miss his presence in this world.

I only knew Rob through this board, but I feel this is a terrible loss. He joined about a year before my diagnosis, and his advice, knowledge, and support was incredibly helpful during those first months when everything felt like it was in free-fall. He will be remembered and missed.
