Lonsurf with or without meals at specific times

Postby Kiter » Fri Jun 14, 2024 11:27 pm

Hi all,

I'm changing my chemo meds next week and the new thing will be Lonsurf. As an oral drug, it says to take with the morning and evening meals. But, I don't have a morning meal! I eat lunch between 12:30 and 1:30; and dinner between 6:30 and 8:00. I've talked with my Dr about this and he's looking into it. But I thought I'd toss it out here to see if anyone else has been down this path.

For one, I'm really not consistent on when I eat, and two I don't have that mythical morning meal they keep talking about. Is this drug really that hard on the stomach that it needs food in it? Or is there something chemical going on that mandates food in the stomach at the same time?

I've read pretty much all the literature from the pharmaceutical company and they don't address this. The assumption is always that everyone eats 3 meals a day at the same time every day... argh!!!
