Clinical trial thoughts

Postby skimom » Fri Jan 19, 2024 10:01 am

Hi guys! Had some not great news on my scans yesterday. Looks like it’s spreading. New met to spleen and esophagus. Also new one to liver although other liver mets stable. Lungs continue to grow.

Sounds to me like it’s time to try something else. I looked into trials and am wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this one?

https://clinicaltrials.gov/study/NCT055 ... e=1&rank=3

I don’t qualify for the TIL one that Prayingforccr was on (boy do I miss his posts on here!) due to previous rheumatoid arthritis but mine was mild and Im hoping there will be something I do qualify for. maybe this one?

Anyway, thanks in advance for any input you may have and best wishes on your journey through this :)

Hello Skimom,
Just joining. Don't even know how to list stats yet. Just read your post on Histotripsy.
My son 39, diagnosed 6-23 is my reason for joining. We're in MI
where this was developed at U of M. I've contacted them and he has a zoom scheduled later in the month for eligibility after they receive scans and all info.from HF. With 95% success rate, sounds like a worthy alternative. They just received the equipment last week. He had 10-15 in liver upon diagnosis which after 12 cycles of 5-FU 3 day pump and MVASI, oxaliplatin, Leucovorin and Irinotecan infusion every 2 weeks. Now in January Cat Scan largest are now at 2.1 and 2.0cm from 4.7, the others are not measured.

Information I received are tumors cannot be more the 5cm and fewer than 6 inside and or/ fewer that 3 outside the liver under 1.5cm.
his largest are now at 2.1 and 2.0 from 4.7, the others are not measured. According to the limits they cannot be more than 5cm and fewer than 6 inside and/or fewer than 3 outside the liver under 1.5cm.

He's getting infusion of MVASI double or triple dose every three weeks and oral capecitabine for 2 weeks daily.

Hoping and prayers for the best for you and all on this forum.

Hi skimom, from what I have been reading and watching on youtube about histotropsy is that if liver or ther approved organs are targeted that for now thought is it generates a huge immune response (a wake up call to reconize) to go after other mets such as lungs. I watched a video about it and they are trying to nail down how to get lung mets with the procedure but no luck yet.
