So lovely to see all the familiar names .

Amy where did time go ! Five , how wonderful is that and a new role as a Gran .

Well cancer showed up again for mum with further spread to the lungs in 2022 and some lymph nodes .
Decided on a targeted therapy . She had nine months and a great response. Her disease is so slow growing that they decided to stop treatment and she is getting her strength back . It only grew 1 mm in six months and the target tumour had not grown in ten months and is manageable.

She gave it a good shot as ever but no more scans , treatment etc . She is now out the system and busy in her own life .
She has lived long enough to become an elderly lady .
That’s a good thing .
It certainly has become slow growing the older she got ! One way to contain it I guess .
Take care everyone and so good to see all your names . X

Delighted to see an update on your Mum, Stu! Had been thinking about her since you posted a sad note about your Dad's passing (Memory Eternal.) Hope your Mum is feeling well despite the lung mets. You both have been such an inspiration.

IDF108, That is some memory . Just catching up on your news too Claudine .

We do miss dad . There was always be a special place in our hearts .
However despite all that has been thrown at her mum has faced it with courage and she rarely complains.
She has had a wonderful day with family friends .
Her general health seems to be improving and no signs of symptoms from the tumours . Actually she has never had any symptoms from cancer right the way through so that’s a positive.
However other health issues do cause pain but she deals with it .

So far so good ! :)
It’s been good catching up on all the news .
Wishing everyone the strength , courage and still waiting on the cure !
Enjoyed reading that an English university has had a nice break through with the vaccine for a subtype. It’s the same university that has mum’s tumour as they are researching stage 4 longevity!
Take care ,

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

Postby O Stoma Mia » Fri Dec 20, 2024 10:05 pm

BUMP

It looks like 2024 might turn out to be another quiet holiday season like 2023. Not many people posting messages these days. And sadly we have lost some of our most valued frequent posters during the past year.

I hope everyone will be enjoying the holiday season and looking forward to a healthy and happy New Year ...

Yes, I noticed that this message board was particularly quiet from Christmas through New Year's Day.

I was expecting to see some New Year's greetings from old-timers here like weisssoccermom, but nothing showed up on the board. Hopefully everybody is safe and sound and just enjoying the holiday season.

Happy New Year to all, and best wishes for a healthy and happy year.

Take care ...
