Really sorry to hear this news, Rob.

Whilst there are options though… That’s a positive!
Although not interesting to you, it’s good your onc is willing to let you rechallenge prior chemos.
I’ve heard positive things about Y90! Maybe you could be creative and mess around with a few things with the hope that more trials become available.

What’s the latest with fruiti?

Best wishes

OH man, that really blows! Damn.
I am so so sorry it wasn't a good trial for you.
You are good at finding ways to keep it in control so I know you will find something that will work.
I was watching this dr who explained the fenben molecule and protocol. Fascinating really. It works on the microtubules of the cancer cells so glucose can't enter and iron can't get out therfore the cancer cell dies. There were some other technical things it does to cancer cells but those two stuck out. Peoples mainly documenting their personal trials were lung and liver cancer or mets to them.

Sorry to hear this news, Rob. I was somehow barred from posting for a bit, so couldn’t respond initially. As usual, you seem to have an optimal focus and attitude. I wish you success with the next approach you choose.

That trial looks promising—our oncologist thinks combining anti-pd1 immunotherapy with other inhibitors, and not just ctla-4 is the key to making immunotherapy work for MSS patients. I hope this one provides some benefit for you!

Ugh, ended up excluded from this trial (NCT05462236) after nearly a MONTH of screening) as my LDH was too high.

Back, yet again, to the drawing board.

Sorry about that.
What LDH did they consider too high (also normal lab range/UL=?) and how many days/weeks after IV vitamin C was it drawn?
watchful, active researcher and caregiver for stage IVb/c CC. surgeries 4/10 sigmoid etc & 5/11 para-aortic LN cluster; 8 yrs immuno-Chemo for mCRC; now no chemo
most of 2010 Life Extension recommendations and possibilities + more, some (much) higher, peaking ~2011-12, taper chemo to almost nothing mid 2018, IV C-->2021. Now supplements

Ahh Rob, gutted to hear that.
Rechallenege with chemo? Just to tide over?
It’s a pretty penny but I have the details of a human genetics specialist in Germany at CeGat running blood biopsies/tests that apparently test a lot more thoroughly than what Guardant and Foundation One tests do.
Around 20,0000 genomes, HLA and other things I have zero clue about, as opposed to 300 tested or whatever with the blood tests they offer here at least in the UK.
Not sure if you’d be at all interested but I could send you over her details.
How’s about early compassionate access to fruqi?

My creatinine was outside the guidelines, but nih hydrated me for 2 days, ran the test and pulled me across the finish line, just barely.

Not sure how egregious your ldh is, but I didn’t see it as an excluding criteria on the trial.

If it’s close, I would make an emotional appeal.

Sucks.

It’s intensely frustrating, mainly because the trial doctor had already written to the sponsor and got approval for a waiver on my LDH! Then at the last minute (literally the day before treatment) they changed their mind. I’m back in touch with the PI now to see what might be possible; indeed it isn’t specifically an exclusion factor, just “adequate organ function” (or similar).

It’s funny - there’s a colorectal CAR-T trial starting here next year, and the criteria are basically “previously treated unresectable metastatic CRC, with all normal organ function and no requirement for ongoing antinausea or antidiarrheal medication”. I’ll be amazed if they find anyone that qualifies at all!

I actually don’t know what my final result was - getting that sent to me now. I had been off the IVC for a while as I was going through the screening, but I understand this can reduce LDH so will get back on it and see if I can reduce it (either for this trial or the next one…)
