I got the call today that I am officially scheduled for surgery on 20 June and could not be happier!
I write this to offer hope to any of you that have just been given awful news and don’t have much hope. While I’ve never lost faith, I was beyond shocked at the words “you have stage iv cancer” since I was never sick and chemo for life was the only option given to me by local oncologist.
Thanks to the amazing people on here posting their stories and answering so many questions. All of the things I’ve learned from reading through so many old posts and the words of encouragement to not give up and go get other opinions helped me so very much!
While this battle is far from over, I have so much more hope for getting to NED.
Plan for surgery is as follows:
Surgery Date: 6/20/23
Procedure: Laparoscopy, partial hepatectomy, cholecystectomy, possible liver lesion ablation, placement of hepatic arterial infusion pump, and liver ultrasound.
I know I will have more chemo to do and traveling 4 hours one-way every 2 weeks will have its challenges but will be so worth it should this HAI pump do what we expect it to.
That’s it. Just wanted to share. Blessings to you all
