It is 24 hours post surgery now, the surgeon told us the blockage was due to the terrible adhesion of larger bowel loops. Upon freeing them, some punctures happened to the intestine so they had to add a colostomy bag. He also told us this will cause small bowel syndrome and we will have to take more care of dad's diet. And he wants to reverse the stoma asap but I think that will have to wait for atleast 2 months.
Though he never answers me on how to treat the current mets. My dad got 3 - pelvic mets(5.3 cm), liver (3.6 cm) and lytic lesion in sacrum S1. He just tells me to focus on body recovery for now. Though I really want to know how we can get rid of these mets since the radiation did not work on any of these, and liver lesion was discovered post-radiation.
Do you guys know of any such case here and make me knowledgeable about the best treatment option for similar case. Like can chemotherapy work on the lesions of this size or is there something else that is considered best for tumor of this size?
