Well, I thought I was just going to have a Left total hip surgery. No problem. But then I was so nauseous after that surgery they did a CT with contrast of my belly. By my signature you can see that I had colostomy 11 years ago. 2 parastomal hernia repairs over the years and the hernia was back again.

Well they came back from the scan results and told me that my hernia was an accident waiting to happen. I had multiple segments of small bowel trapped, incarceration in the hernia and some were kinked and starting to form adhesions.

So they had to reposition the colostomy. Move it up by a few inches. Fix all the kinked intestine, push it back in, sew it up. This was not done larparoscopically. It was open surgery. Right down my middle and through my belly button.

Tough going for a while. Procedure on 9/3 and just now beginning to feel a little normal again. Slow but using a cane. Sad to be missing all the beautiful fall weather but glad that the docs went for it and didn't just gloss over it and say the nausea was results of anesthesia.

Went outside today for first time.....went to dogpark with my dogs. There is hope again.
