Hi, I had a CT scan today and just received the results. It seems inconclusive in regards to the two mets that I had, back on June 6, one met was resected, and the smaller one was ablated. This is what the radiologist reported:
Hepatic ablation cavities have increased in size, status post treatment. For example, a 2.6 cm lesion in segment 7 was 1.1 cm (image 19, series 1) and a 2.0 cm adjacent lesion just anteriorly was 0.9 cm (image 17
Increased in size hepatic ablation cavities with residual disease difficult to exclude on CT.
I probably should have waited to look at this report as it's just confusing, not sure what a ablation cavity is?, and I guess it's not good if it's getting bigger?
I won't meet with my oncologist until next week - should I request an MRI or PET scan?
Just wondered if anyone on this forum had any insight into this.
thank you,.....
