Post-surgery bowel movement again

Postby ASTEPHENS33 » Mon Aug 29, 2022 12:12 pm

I know there are lots of posts on this topic, but too many for me to correlate right now (surgery last Thursday), so thought I would just re-post again and ask for advise. Does this seem safe? Any other suggestions?

- Miralax - 17g/standard dosage - twice a day - take mroe or less?
- Ducosate sodium/ colace - 100mg - three times a day - instructions say take 2hours before or after other medicines, which is hard to do - anyone know how important that is. Take more of less?
- 5 whole prunes every day - should I eat more. Prune juice better or in addition to?

- Ducolax - active ingredient is bisacodyl - not taking this, but is ok to add, how much

Thoughts, experience greatly appreciated.

Respectfully to others who may wish to help our friend here ...
Rock_Robster nailed it
WE need more info and should NOT be giving what amounts to medical advice on ASTEPHENS33 post.

IS it a blockage/obstruction ... torsion ... volvulus ... impaction... obstipation ... ileus ...
IS it medication induced ???

ALL require a specific diagnosis AND resolution management by a qualified medical professional
NOT a drive by post on the forum.

Simply increasing the impetus of forcing a bowell movement where one MAY NOT BE INDICATED
might put your own health at risk

Find out what the problem IS ...and then consult your experts to SOLVE IT !!!
