Gina -

You mentioned above that you have many friends in Highland Park. I was wondering if by any chance you knew of, or had heard about, a former Highland Park resident named Eric Roth. He was a long-time member here on this forum. Actually, he was one of the original members who registered here in 2007 under the screen name of Traveler001-- member #731, to be exact.

Traveler001 had made many trips back and forth between Illinois and Texas, because he was being treated at the MD Anderson Cancer Center there in Houston.

Eric passed away in 2014, but he left quite a legacy here, with many virtual friends here that were so sorry to see him go. He was such a source of fun and laughter while he was posting messages here.

If you're interested, you can read this eulogy submitted in 2014 by a close friend of his:

Thanks for sharing - I didn’t know Eric, but sounds like I missed out. : )

Leaving Norway now and heading back to the US for a few days; on Thursday we head to MSK for my pre-op. Trying to hold onto the vacation calm; or at least as much of it as we have left after getting four kids and ourselves out the door by 5:45 am!!

Well, two good news reports:

One, we had an amazing time in Norway, a country that should be on everyone’s bucket list in my opinion! Granted, a lot of that was because we were fortunate enough to be staying with various cousins; but it is truly a breathtaking place.

Two, I had a successful ablation at MSK yesterday! They did a biopsy and a PET right after and both were clear. He warned me I would likely be admitted for two nights but they let me go “home” yesterday evening, so I actually got some rest! I have some significant pain in my right shoulder, a combo of referred pain and where my day to day stress knots are; but feeling good otherwise.

Very happy and have a good feeling about this one!

Norway is a stunning country . Cruised up the Fjords . Any time I looked out the window the views were astounding .

There towns and cities were unique too but rather expensive.

So pleased you are safely through your ablation . Now for some relaxation.
