Just checking in..Hi yall!

Postby AmyG » Mon Feb 07, 2022 8:02 pm

35 days from now I'll have scans, bloodwork and a visit with the oncologist. SO MUCH has happened since the last time I was there in September. Let's see...

Lost 30 lbs.
Gained a son in law.
Gained a granddaughter. (two different kids blessed me with those additions)
We now have goats, a cow and a big flock of chickens. It's everything I've ever wanted!!

It's been a whirlwind the last several months but I'm so thankful I'm here for it. Nicholas turns *3* in 36 days. Where has the time gone?? I am so busy (in the best ways) that I really don't even feel anxious about this upcoming appointment. Cancer and everything that goes with it is currently in my rear view mirror. I really hope it stays that way.

So last monday was my appointment, however 10min before I got to the hospital (it's a 2hr drive) they called and rescheduled my labs and doctor visit. Still had the CT. Everything is all clear, no signs of any reoccurrence. I go tomorrow afternoon for labs and to see what the oncologist wants to do from here! I assume I'll stay on the six month visits for a bit longer. Probably 3 more? Then move to yearly. Idk. Just so excited that as of right now, nothing looks like it's returned!

Stu, Nicholas just turned *3*, he's so grown!

So in an interesting turn of events, I am now a YEARLY patient! All my labs are fine, CEA is 1.7 and I'm pretty much just rolling around like stage iv cancer happened to someone else. There are no plans to ever release me, not at a 5 or 10 year mark but we'll see how things go.

For now, I have one ct/labs/visit a year and I'm on every 3 years for a colonoscopy. That just happens to be next year, luck me!

So I'd call today pretty decent.
