Treatments that target CEA?

Postby Bpaint » Wed Dec 01, 2021 12:46 pm

I've read a couple of articles describing how the CEA protein can protect cancer cells from being killed. My husband's cancer releases a LOT of CEA-- his CEA has never been in the single digits, and it's usually in the triple digits. His oncologist says his CEA numbers are about 3 times what he would expect for the amount of cancer he has in his body. I know that a few other people on here have had abnormally high CEAs as well.

I'm wondering whether anyone know about any treatments or other ways to target CEA? From my own googling, it looks like there are a few trials in China using T-cell therapy to target CEA, but I didn't find much besides that.
husband (age 41 at dx):
8/20 CRC Stage 4. Mets to lungs, liver, distant lymph nodes
MSS, KRAS wild
CEA 713 at dx
Folfox (12 rounds)
Liver, colon and node resection 4/21
New lung mets, Vectibix monotherapy started 6/21
Stop Vectibix lungs stable about 6 months; all other areas stable
Start Folfiri + avastin 1/22
Stop Folfiri (lungs stable 6 mos); start Vectibix 7/22
Stop Vectibix 12/22 (lungs stable 5 mos this time)
SBRT on lung Mets scheduled for 1/22, will restart Folfiri

My CEA is high mid teens. Thinking is cancer stem cells maybe or not. Anybody's guess at this point.
I have been concentrating on using anti-virals, anti-fungals, anti-parasiticals (total detox on cellular level) along with xeloda and celebrex.
Xeloda and celebrex to go after the cancer we can't see.
The other anti- things to break lipid protein barriers on unhealthy cells to get nutrients to them.
My approach is not traditional at all but seems to be working for the time being.
I looked into the T-cell therapy a few years ago. It made sense at the time.
I really believe getting the gut biome super healthy is a positive.
