6 Months of Capox completed

Postby WelshIan » Tue Jul 13, 2021 1:15 am

Hi All,

So on the 12/7 I finished my 6 month adjuvant chemo, it did not go as planned, it was meant to be 3 months capox but as I have written before I did not respond well to the oxi infusions so was extended to 6 months with just xeloda.

Now I have the nervy time to wait until December for the follow-up checks to see if it has done its job.

Feeling refreshed and full of energy so here starts rebuild 2.0

If I'm understanding your tx, it's 3 three week cycles of Capox and about 5-6 three week cycles of capecitabine, trying to get an effective dose intensity of capecitabine up to 4500 mg to burn out the last cancer cells.

So question is what were your CBC results at dx, after surgery/before chemo, and immediately after last chemo dose?

CBC data are so basic and cheap NHS should have given you this data.
In toto, CBC data have meaning if you want to discuss them, albeit not as complete as desired by skilled hands might desire or use. (more complete blood data possibilities are in my archived comments)

People utilize different nutritional strategies to recover from chemo better and to rebuild their immune systems.
The very most basic one is probably vitamin D3, great deficiencies common in CRC and now especially important with coronavirus.
watchful, active researcher and caregiver for stage IVb/c CC. surgeries 4/10 sigmoid etc & 5/11 para-aortic LN cluster; 8 yrs immuno-Chemo for mCRC; now no chemo
most of 2010 Life Extension recommendations and possibilities + more, some (much) higher, peaking ~2011-12, taper chemo to almost nothing mid 2018, IV C-->2021. Now supplements

Hi Jacques, my hb levels were extremely low on first visit to my doctor hb was 57 then admitted to hospital and received 5 units of blood which took me to hb 102, stable enough for ct scan and colonoscopy found 7cm tumour staged at cT4a N1b M0 post surgery staged to pT3cN2a 4 out of 265 nodes infected.

here is a link to my hb chart from dx to last week https://imgur.com/a/KNGmnju

Investigated due to weight loss and lack of energy and it shows anemia (Hb lowest at 57) and further tumor change in colon ascension. PAD confirms adenocarcinoma. cT4aN1bM0 (lung changes, infectious, diffuse, control cases). Underwent right hemicolectomy on 9 December. pT3cN2a (4/26), no risk factors, R0. ct scan in January and the lung nodes were not visible - slight chest infection they tell me.

hope that is the info you wanted if not let me know
