Had my 10th colonoscopy today

Postby helen098 » Wed Jun 23, 2021 9:57 pm

Did the Plenvu prep, I have done so many from the phosposada, to the gallon jug, the pills and everything in between. This was the worse
The taste is vile I believe the base is garbage water ( when they compress the garbage sometimes liquid spills out at least in new york) not regular garbage water it must be from a human and animal waste nuclear power plant, then they add the normal horrible salty laxative, then for flavor I think it was some type of chemical tropical fruit, the second was fruit punch produced in hell.

Plenvu please feel free to use the above for your advertising :D

With all medicine can do why can’t we have a prep that doesn’t make you want to vomit?
Why does it have to have the salt water from hell taste

Its almost time to leave home and I am still pooping yellow water
The new doc is in the city and I live in queens, must decide to take a uber and risk assaulting the poor drive or take the subway and poop on it. Decide I probably would not be the only one pooping on the subway. Some how I make it without incident, wearing my big girl depends and extra paper towels for extra protection. :P

Being naked under the gown while wearing a mask is very unnerving, thank you covid.

Wake up in recovery, drooling on my mask, yuck
Doc never comes to see me, at first they said he was still doing a procedure
All the usual stuff eventually dressed and ready to go I am still waiting, its been an hour since I woke up, other people who came after me are leaving
I try not to worry, it doesn’t work. I figure the doc is calling someone else to schedule surgery tomorrow just like last time

Eventually the doc comes over all serious and worried….o shit I think
He starts with this was not the outcome I expected.
Everything is fine
I ask what do you mean?
He answers because your cancer was so aggressive and since its been so long since your least colonoscopy ( was supposed to be summer 2019 , my brother’s cancer and covid made it impossible to have the colonoscopy till now) I expected a very different outcome.
Doc says everything is great, he can see the resection (healed very well) , no polyps , nothing wrong, no new fistula nothing unusual all is great.

Don’t even need to see him every year to check for a new fistula unless I have a problem

Next colonoscopy 3 to 5 years, when I asked what he preferred he said 3 years.
I will definitely go back in 3 years

We joked about what will happen in 3 years and hope we can see each other’s faces them

i had my 15 year anniversary on June 6
Of course I was worried I had cancer again

Am so happy to hear everything is great

Thanks for listening :D :D

That's a lot of colonoscopies.

I do the Gatorade/Miralax Prep and I'm generally fine with that.

Had colon cancer at 21 and just had my large intestine removed at 53. I see your 10 scopes and raise you 30.

I’ve had 40 colonoscopies over the years. Was going 2x per year the first 3 years from my initial surgery.

That’s a lot of preps...

I hope you get your preps comped after that many.
