New here

Postby Texangirl » Tue Jun 22, 2021 8:24 pm

So my story is l was diagnosed back in June 27,2019 age 42 with stage 3 rectal cancer . did radiation and oral chemo. Sept 2019 Had a robotic assistant low interior resection with diverting ileostomy and p r o c t o s c o p y and a month later or so after that a reverse ileostomy & port put in.. And then I rested my body. I guess like month or so then did infusion chemo and oral chemo together. Like six treatments it was a hard on my body sometimes my chemo treatments got pushed back because of my platelets were low I didn't finish until March 2020 And that when covid hit. I'm in remission since Nov 2020 thank God . I still go to my oncologist every 3 months do blood work and CT pelvic exam and chest x-ray every 6 months now because that's when the insurance will let me do it. So I have to wait till at least in the July to do mine next scan and that's SCANXIETY. But I gave it to God. . My 1st CRC anniversary is June 27,2021. My CEA is 0.5 since May.
Any advice. Colonoscopy Oct. 2020 good

Congratulations. I am two years out free and clean, same regime as you. It is a good thing to celebrate.
