Anxiety Is High, Just Had CT Scan, Year and a half out

Well, not sure if I should be worried or not. I feel worried. My mind is telling me to be worried. Just had my year and a half cancer ct scan. I lost 50 lbs between my last ct scan and now. I continue to lose weight. I changed up my diet and have to now remind myself to eat daily. I never get hungry. I just started a new job and cancer returning would destroy what I got going on. Please anyone, is my reaction normal here? Might just need to calm down a bit.

I've had 4 CT scans and an MRI since I began treatment, and each time every ache or pain or missed meal was a sign that something terrible was going to turn up. Then the scans were fine. Just gotta stay positive, get the results, and go from there.

I'd say yes, unfortunately your feelings are totally normal! :)

And yes, you probably do need to find some way[s] to calm down. :) Venting to people here, who totally understand scanxiety, is one good way.

Regarding your weight loss and lack of appetite, some of us could stand to lose 50 lbs and not be too skinny, others not so much. Obviously I don't know where you fall on that spectrum, but I do know that ongoing lack of appetite is concerning for nutritional reasons, if nothing else. Have you talked to any of your doctors about it? There are people here who can make suggestions, maybe medical marijuana?

Good luck!

Going through the same... expecting scan results today. Fearing something is wrong.

To the OP, I lost 25 pounds of weight in the short time between diagnosis and surgery just due to anxiety. I tried to eat, but was not hungry. Aprehension satted my appetite.

It’s very normal to be anxious and fear the worst.

All the best for your results. Try and relax, cancer takes so much away from us as it is. Sending positive vibes your way x
