Cynthia, Peace to you. I can understand and appreciate the CEA & SUV anxiety as I also have that to deal with that- Even now as I type. I too talked with God about not leaving my children age 11 & 13 and wife to go through life without me.

If I may, what needs to be revealed for your long-term viability and wellness, is being revealed and will be taken care off. If surgery is an option great. I don't think this rules out your continuation of keytruda. I had a discussion with my onc about a mutation of a met that needed ablated and that staying on my current regimen still had treatment value. Not all cancer seeding or potential mets evolve within the same time frame. This an "old wait and see met" that its time has come for departure. Prayers sent! Bob

Following along and anxious to hear what Dr Kemeny thinks the best course of action will be. I know I always feel better when there is a plan.

Cynthia, I'm sorry to hear the less-than-stellar news. I, too, wonder if the node is resectable.

Something I've wondered about in the past was whether there was any thought of switching to a different regimen, such as Y+O, if Keytruda stopped working for me. I don't think I ever discussed it with my onc, but it's a thought.

I read an article/study today about how a PARP synergized Keytruda and Y&O in breast cancer and could potentially be other cancers where a synergizer would work well. I have no idea what this means but sounded interesting.

Hi ,
Sorry to hear your recent news !
My friend had an extensive secondary spread from a primary lung cancer she used Keytrunda with a chemotherapy agent . She got an amazing response. She had the odd breakthrough but they were able to use radiotherapy for it ! She kept going with Keytrunda and it kept the spread in her body completely at bay . The tipping point came when her kidneys struggled a bit , just a little and it was during covid . I think she missed out on a multi disciplinary approach and a doctor at a different hospital changed her steroid dose in isolation of the oncologist! Very shortly after she developed Brain mets more in keeping with the pattern of her primary’s spread and again missed out on any hospital visits . Right up till the end the spread in her body ,her abdominal area , remain completely under control with Keytrunda and a little radiotherapy.
It will be interesting to see what the research suggests on when Keytrunda is classed as failing ! I know chemotherapy takes that approach but in other primaries they seemed to continue as long as they could target the area with a different approach!
Hope they have a good plan soon .
