I got a call to go right to the ER

Postby Trying » Fri Oct 02, 2020 5:40 pm

I got a call yesterday morning to go straight to the closestER. My numbers were showing I must have something trapped in my bile duct. I was there all day yesterday. My poo started to turn white which they said it would. My urine is brown which I thought was from new vitamins I was taking. They did an ultrasound which showed a dialated duct with something in it. I am to take it easy until tuesday when I go for a camera scope. I'm pretty sure its cancerous. They said that is their concern too. I just feel so scared and alone even though I have a supportive family. All sorts of worst case scenarios are running through my head. Please pray or send healing and strength to me. For my little boy. He needs his momma. I'm so emotionally weak I'm having trouble keeping my head up right now. Inspirational words welcome too.

BOY, are you going to be in my thoughts & prayers!! For a speedy recovery.

Something that rang true around here a few years ago, "breath in, breath out", REPEAT!!!

One step at a time.

One thing that really helped me get through some of my darkest days. On a daily basis, I figured if I was learning something new each day, I was not going to be dying anytime soon. It worked for me. Learned some pretty strange stuff  .

One day I was reading about "mourning" jewelry, popular during the civil war through the early 20th century when someone dies. One day at a church thrift store/auction house, I thought I had found one of those "mourning" jewelry along with some pure junk jewelry. Old tin type photo on one side, human hair on flip side. Knew I had & started talking about it. Women behind the counter pretty much dropped her jaw. How do I know this, my friend came up, stated she (me) likes to learn some pretty strange info at times. Anyway, I was going to place a bid on item, women behind counter said no, you take it home today. These items have been here for 2 weeks, you are the 1st person to know what it was. It's going to a good home. I still have it today.

The other thing I am going to pass along. When you get beyond this new medical crisis ( & know in your heart, you will), every few weeks, hook up with a friend, do something you enjoy, one day you do not think about cancer, a normal day. That also helped me.

Know this is just another challenge in your cancer journey, you will overcome this. As a mother to school age kids, you will find strength you did not know you had.

Sorry to hear about your bile duct. Something I did which helped me was to just forget about tomorrow, I know easier said than done. But since none of us know what will happen tomorrow, we can just try to live for the now and do things we enjoy now.

Keep us posted.

Stay calm...and remember you are a Mama and you will do what it takes to get through this for your son. I did this....many many rounds of chemo, surgery after surgery, recurrences, trying over and over to hang on for my babies. Set small goals...fight through the fear and keep going and pray....God will guide you and hold you. I will be praying for you for good things. Sometimes when things see their worst...they will get better.

This is excellent advice. My husband has similarly encouraged me - I have been through lots of tough stuff before, and we deal with it as it comes. So far so good. I say I need to stay alive or who would clip those little fingernails?! Moms gotta survive.

We are with you supporting you and hoping they can quickly get you back into good shape!!
