Cancer Whole Genome Sequencing, Thoughts?

Postby wardward » Sun Dec 01, 2019 8:02 pm

Hello, I read about Cancer Whole Genome Sequencing and I'm not sure but places like IU Health Precision Genomics and British Columbia Personalized Oncogenomics uses this procedure? Is it something that can help? What are everyone's thoughts? A loved one lives in Canada in another province at Stage 4 and that province doesn't have what BC does. I was wondering if there were companies that does this in the US or Canada for a fee? I'm a bit lost on how to go about doing genomic testing. If anyone can provide guidance, it would be a great help.

I've found this resource but I'm not sure how recent it is. It lists Illumina, Alacris, the Mayo Clinic and Foundation One. Foundation One doesn't seem to have whole genome sequencing but has another type of test?
