If it makes you feel any better, I didn't mind at all being left alone at the hospital. Binge watching garbage tv, napping when I wanted, meals and pain meds delivered right to me...it wasn't half bad!!

DH hates tv and his sleep was interrupted a lot so hes beyond ready to go.

He was ruffed up pretty good by the nurses trying to access his pump, all bruised up like a.... an example escapes me, but pretty ugly. After the surgeon who placed it showed up they did what they needed to do the right way. His blood counts after weren't so good DH said before the doc showed up he'd spewed blood from the injection site like the stuff you see in movies so he needed a transfusion which kept him from being discharged today. The staples look good though.

How’s he doing? Any chance of discharge today or does he have to hang in there another day or so? Has he been able to go to the bathroom yet? Prune juice - warm - is what finally got me out after that first surgery!

He IS home now. He is really beat up, the nurses that tried to do the pump study pushed on him so much he isn't just black and blue hes purple and daaaark red. Not sure if they knew what they were doing because the needle they stuck him with popped out and he sprayed blood, wound up needing a transfusion. Silver lining, its done he's got a pump, he's home. That transfusion delayed his departure, but we did get to leave on day 5.

I am just trying to picture what in the heck happened with the pump study or any needle being used which would have led to that much blood loss so as to need an infusion!! Maybe the study is different from a pump fill?? I finally told the nurses not to put on a band-aid after a pump fill, because there’s next to no blood.

Anyway that sounds kind of dramatic / traumatic. I hope he heals quickly now that he’s at home!

I have no idea I hadn't gotten to the hospital yet and you know men, not into details.

His pump incision is bleeding a little this morning. Going to get his oxy scrip after the kids head to church this morning.

2 weeks post operation. After a 2 hour drive we spent 6 hours waiting around for the liver surgeon she was a full 2 hours behind. But DH saw it as all in all productive, 1. His incisions were checked, 2. Staples out, 3. Chemo filled in his pump. 2 hours home. He was relieved not to worry about the staples at Thanksgiving

Also, 2/32 lypmh nodes came back with cancer.
