I would like to start a new thread where members can post images and/or share stories of their special place, special friend, special event or activity that help us forget, however briefly, the affects of CRC on our and our families lives.

Hi Everyone,
Don't have a picture to share, maybe one of these days. Thought I would fill in my last few months. Dear Hubby ended up in the hospital over the 4th of July. Was in for 5 days, he's doing much better now. He kept me busy for most of July. August and a few weeks in September were months away from home. Started August in Pensacola, FL to see father in law. He's going pretty good, but getting older. He just turned 93. Maybe going to see him in a few month. He's at a wonderful place, but they may be moving him from independent living to assisted living. Will help sister in law with the move and clearing out his current apartment.
My brother has a beach house on the Outer Banks. We were there a few weeks after our Florida trip. We were suppose to be on the island for a week with a few days at both weekends to see, vacation and explore North Carolina. Dorian cut our time at the beach house short. The good news, my brother place is about 100 miles north of where it hit land, butt we all boarded up the house just in case. DH and I were there until Wednesday. Guess it's not the hurricane that is the problem, rather the possible flooding. And if you don't have 4 wheel drive, leave the island. We heeded the advice.
When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. We did and had a wonderful time. No interstate for us, just the back roads, One of the restaurants we ate at was local mom and pop. Everyone knew we were not from around there and owner kept bring us different things to try, yum!!! She gave me a hug on the way out. When the hurricane was coming ashore we were mostly inland, got a motel, but had to accept we could lose power, lights, etc if storm got bad enough. Hey we had 4 walls, roof, and a door, all good. Guess some people saw a few tornados. We were eating at a local restaurant when it was raining cats and dogs, at least for me. Waitress said, this is nothing, wait until a hurricane comes through, then it get exciting. Hum, no thank you
North Carolina is a beautiful state with a lot of southern charm, and the BBQ is to die for. We had a wonderful trip. Gotta figure out this picture thing.
September has just been busy. A good friend's dad just passed away at 88, will be helping her shortly with his place. Will be catching on this thread tomorrow or the next day. Hope everyone is doing well.
