Also have concerns about whether I need a CT before or not? I am hoping to squeeze in a second opinion before doing the polypectomy on THursday. Thanks.
CT scan is used to exclude a surgery.
Colonoscopic polypectomy (from point of view of impact on your health) is nothing as compared to real surgery.
After colonoscopic polypectomy I was out of work for a day.
After laparoscopic hemicolectomy I was out of work for 5 weeks.
If I were you I would skip CT scan (because it can prevent colonoscopic poypectomy).
Just create a decision matrix and you will better understand this.

Good luck and best wishes!
58 yo male at diagnosis: T1bN0M0, 0/15 nodes, low grade/moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma
03/2016 colonoscopy: 2 small polyps removed in left colon; CEA = 1.3
04/2016 colonoscopy: caecum sessile 3.5 cm polyp piecemeal removed with kind of clear margins
05/2016 "prophylactic" laparoscopic right hemicolectomy - bleeding, leak, infection
06/2017 CT scan, colonoscopy OK; CEA = 1.6
A lot of funny stuff discovered by CT scans in liver, kidney, lungs, arteries, gallbladder, lymph node, pancreas

Thanks for all the advice. The original GI will remove the mass this week. Procedure should take an hour and then I will have results in less than a week.

Thanks!

Good luck with the procedure! Be sure to do a complete clean-out prep before the procedure. Are they going to try to remove the polyp in one single piece rather than in fragments?

Did you have the procedure done last week, and do you now have the results?
