It is currently scheduled for Thursday with the same GI. Still have concerns about whether a GI should be doing it vs. a colorectal surgeon. Also have concerns about whether I need a CT before or not? I am hoping to squeeze in a second opinion before doing the polypectomy on THursday. Thanks.

CT scan is used to exclude a surgery.
Colonoscopic polypectomy (from point of view of impact on your health) is nothing as compared to real surgery.
After colonoscopic polypectomy I was out of work for a day.
After laparoscopic hemicolectomy I was out of work for 5 weeks.
If I were you I would skip CT scan (because it can prevent colonoscopic poypectomy).
Just create a decision matrix and you will better understand this.

Good luck with the procedure! Be sure to do a complete clean-out prep before the procedure. Are they going to try to remove the polyp in one single piece rather than in fragments?
