After 5 years my wife is coming to the end of her Journey as you can see by her signature information she put a real battle. she has been in the hospital twice in the last two weeks, Feet swelling ,fluid in the lungs , her kidneys functions has drop off the last 7 days the Dr. said

I had a meeting with the oncologist today , No good news..No clinical trials.. her health to so compromised ..so talked on wants next??? Hospice care is what he recommended ..We have a meeting tomorrow with Hospice...

I did ask him how much time is left ..he said about a month.. I know no one can predict how much time is left but after 5 years I can see the big change in the past few weeks so I believe time is short. after our meeting he did come up a talk to her in the room about her condition , also saying it was time to look in Hospice and she agree. She never ask about time left but I know she knows it short.

I want to THANK everyone on the Colon Forum for all the help and information I got over the past 5 years, I didn't post a lot but readied almost everyday.

THANK YOU ALL!!!!

Will be thinking of you, your wife, and her family and friends in the coming days. Clearly you both have been fighting for many years, and deserve peace in the days ahead.

Hi there,

I am sorry to hear about your relative and now approaching hospice. I live with my 89 year old uncle and I got to experience Hospice with him for one year. He was fortunate and graduated, he does not have cancer, he has CHF.

I can tell you that with hospice and cancer, it can go fairly quick. My neighbor down the street was put on hospice and he passed within two weeks. They do make them as comfortable as possible. Do you know if he/she wants to do it at home or at a hospice center? My mother mentioned to me that her choice would not be at home, my uncle says he wants to leave this earth at home. Everyone has their own choice in life. My choice would be at home with my loved ones but not with everyone.

I encourage you to read the "Blue Book" that hospice offers. It is a detail oriented book about the last journey. Prayers and hugs. Message me for anything.

May your leave-taking be gracious,
Enabling you to hold dignity
Through awkwardness and illness.

May someone who knows and loves
The complex village of your heart
Be there to echo you back to yourself
And create a sure word-raft
To carry you to the further shore.

May there be some beautiful surprise
Waiting for you inside death,
Something you never knew or felt.

May your heart be speechless
Your heart breathless
In the light and lightness
Where each and every thing
Is at last its true self
Within that serene belonging
That dwells beside us
On the other side
Of what we see.

I'm very sorry it has come to this. I pray that you and your wife/family receive the comfort needed during this most difficult time. She and yourself will be in my rosary.
