First Colonoscopy/Endoscopy - How long for biopsy results?

How long does it generally take for random biopsies results to be available?

I had my colonoscopy/endoscopy last Thursday... I would have thought my results would have been posted by now...

I've found it depends on the Dr. My first colonoscopy, where they found the tumor, pathology took a week. My surgeon, on the other hand, calls me personally within 48 hours. I like my surgeon better.

Called lab yesterday to see if any results were in... no call back. Called my gastro doc today, left message regarding results... no call back.

It's odd to me only because I am on their online health chart system and generally results go in there quickly... as well as notes.

I'm probably over worrying. :-(

I hope you are just worrying. We were already looking at a "mass" when we went to dr. Got into a GI earlier & he called while we were working to say yes it was cancer 2 days later.
Another person I know waited on her appointment a month later with 4? polyps & I big one, non cancerous. It will have to be surgically removed. I hope you are worrying for nothing :)

Thank you all. I'm just not a patient person! Feeling poorly makes a person desire answers.

8 days since my procedure.... still no biopsy results.

In what I thought was an unrelated cardiology visit yesterday - it is mildly suspected that I may have a carcinoid tumor or pheochromocytoma.... now also awaiting those blood tests.

Sigh....

Results were negative; however upon reading the pathology report, the "random" biopsies were not from the areas noted on my ct scan. Go figure!

New post today regarding questions about things seen on my spleen during a recent ultrasound.

That was a long wait for nothing! Does that mean they will do another colonoscopy ? Maybe thats why it took them so long to answer.
Next one oughta be free but I don't see that happening.
