Beautiful post...The strength of human spirit, the ability to love, the capacity to accept, forgive, carry on.... how such an ugly disease highlights such a beauty in a human being.... this incredibly harmonious nature, directed by the most powerful force in the world that rules Life - Universe - is slowly swallowing us from birth and spits us out again one day... another time.... for another trial... Namaste, Julia... Give him all the love you can, he does not need anything else, just you love and be pain free.... Happiness at the end is holding your hand and hearing your voice..... I wish you the most peaceful and loving time now... I am crying with you, love... heartbreaking... Vilca

I'm so sorry you are this part of the journey. Let hospice do it's job, and you do your job of loving your dear husband. I wish I could take the heartache away.

Although we have never spoken, I always read your posts and followed your journey. You are in my thoughts. Your post, so hard to read, but so beautiful too.

Hospice can be a very peaceful time and you will be able to connect with each other on a much deeper level. I know the time we spent with my dear MIL in hospice was such a comfort for all of us and we could just be together and not worry about taking care of everything.

At the same time you know it is the end of your life together here on earth and each moment is so precious.

We are here for you now and always.

Chrissy

My husband spent a couple of months having Hospice care at home.

Hospice care can bring such support (I am thankful for the Hospice care my husband received), but not all Hospice's are equipped the same. For some of us, the majority of care falls upon the family members. What I learned is to ask for more help if it is needed, and that although Hospice is a wonderful option, sometimes even with them "the squeaky wheel gets the oil". And, their workers can make mistakes too, so if something does not seem right, ask for clarification or ask a superior.

Best of luck during this transition from seeking a treatment to seeking peacefulness and comfort. I believe that sometimes this stage of the journey is not as openly spoken about, since certain aspects of care can be seen as "too personal to blast on the internet about another person". I don't always check in here regularly, but if you think PMing with me would be helpful, I'd can do a more regular job of checking in. I'm sure others who have been caregivers throughout a Hospice experience could offer tips and support about caring for you DH, too.

Peaceful days to you and yours.
