Maybe those tail wags a sign he knows Grandad is trying to help, feeling the love, more comfortable.
Hope you can get him to feeling better, find out what's going on!

Hey homies
not great news

looks like the Grand pup has a medullary tumour in left humerus
samples sent off to try to ID type and some suspicious signs in the lungs
BUTT not looking "typical" for his age / breed .. sooooooo ???????????
More questions than answers right now

BTDT

just want to say :
he had his CT late this afternoon
samples are off to the lab
surgeon had to call me 2 hours later ... ONLY because he was already into another emergency surgery !!!!!
Our pup is up and recovering and walking normally with pain meds on board ?????

anyone of US ... have that speedy treatment ????
or CARE for the patients needs ???
AND specialist feedback ????
and concern for the caregivers ????

THESE FOLKS KICK MAJOR BUTTTTTTTT

I am honoured and proud to be a vet amongst their ranks
Humans don't get this level of care ...... in this time frame

WORD

SO, I will not be online as much for a while
WILL do my Mod duties with Jaynee and keep the forum running !!!!

BUTT... will not likely be as "into" the conversations here for a bit
PM / email me anytime

Please just know I am into "doctor" mode right now and my patient
IS the best dog in the world

CRguy, you know we are furry family member friendly here on CT.
Knowing you, of course your grandpup is getting the best care possible; you would accept no less than that.
Hoping lung thingies are benign & local tx will do the job for him.

Will be thinking of you & your family as you all sort through best course/options for your beloved grandpup.

Big Hugs

It stinks when our pups get cancer.....honestly I think it is harder because; (1) they can't tell us how they are feeling, (2) we don't know if we want to put them through the exhaustive treatments like chemo/radiation, (3) the cost is something that needs to be dealt with and (4) in many cases, our furbabies are older and we have to weigh the toll/cost of treatments vs. the potential life expectancy.

I'm going through it for a second time with our last pups. She was diagnosed with transitional cancer that was found in her vaginal canal. Took out the cyst like tumor, did an ultrasound (doesn't appear to be anywhere else) and put her on Piroxicam. We had to weigh her age (14+.....she was a stray....estimated that she was about 1 year old when we found her) vs treatment. I remember all too well going through this with my Lesley and it just plain SUCKS!

I'm so so sorry that you and your family have to be facing this and I truly wish it wasn't the case. I hope that you guys can find a treatment that can help grandpups stay comfortable and give her a longer and more comfortable life. I hate the thought that another pups is in this situation. Our furbabies are so loving and show us unconditional love.....

Just be there for pups.....and do whatever is in pup's best interests. I am confident that you will make the right call.
Sending positive thoughts and prayers.
