I thank everyone for their hard work, it is certainly a blessing to be able to read these posts. I thank you all for your courage for everything that you have gone through and your sharing. Maybe I will be able to articulate as well my story one day.
For me so far, having a permanent colostomy has been a challenge as I have not had the support from a ostomy nurse, so I have been left to my own devices to muddle through everything from constipation ... yeah believe it or not never had it in my life before this, one of my oncologists kindly giggled and said, well we both know that the chemo will cure that in a hurry ... yep not so cute. I also have psoriasis which has not reacted well to the Colostomy flange or glue or leaky stool, ugh! Anyone have any thoughts on that one??? And then of course I have a wonderful perineal wound that is refusing to heal or perhaps abate very slowly!
Then of course the products, what shall I use and I stick it with, dear liza dear liza ... lol one can only keep ones sense of humour day to day with the new experiences! So far I kinda like coloplast but they seem to be the most expensive ... Hollister seems to be the best at giving a generous amount of samples .... but again there is so much to know about so much. Also I have found that Shoppers Drug Mart has been the most expensive so I usually buy online at canmed or Costco!
Anyway, keep posting ya all as I think that this is going to be where I get me educated from!
Hugzzz to ya all Brenda
