Hello to all. I hope I'm not on the wrong board for I have not been diagnosed with colon cancer, but I do have some concerns. I have had several colonoscopies over the years (I'm 64) and the results have always come back with the removal of what my doctor terms "precancerous polyps." This past December, I had the procedure done again, and the doctor removed 12 polyps which included multiple serrated sessile polyps (the polyps changed over the years) from the rectum and other areas of the colon. He suggested I have the procedure done again this December.
What concerns me is that, since my last colonoscopy (unlike previous ones), I have noticed a significant change in consistency/frequency of my stools, which are very soft and somewhat thin. I am also experiencing frequent stomach cramps/pain - recently, one so severe it woke me. I wonder if there might be cause for me to be concerned and call my doctor, or if I should hold out for my next colonoscopy, which is scheduled in a few months.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
