My favorite verse from the Bible, keeps me going when i sometimes have very little faith or hope.God is love and love is in spouses, family, friends or neighbors.

"If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have
not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have
prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I
have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am
nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver my body to be
burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient and kind;
love is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude. Love
does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it
does not rejoice at wrong but rejoices in the right. Love bears all
things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love
never ends.

I we're tossing Bible verses out there, heathen that I am, I've always tried to live by this one:

Phillipians 4:8

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honorable, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Well, here is my favorite Bible verse. I use it as the signature on my emails. I opened my Bible to this verse in 1977 when my mother had terminal pancreatic cancer and it inspired me (and her). I'm happy to say that my mom survived pancreatic cancer WITH NO CHEMO and is a very active, vital 81 year old today.

Isaiah 40:31 - "But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as EAGLESthey shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint"
Pam

I Peter 5:10-11

Diagnosed 9/06 Stage IV, 19 mo. chemo, now out of chemo options except for possible clinical trials. 9/3/08 First of two Sir-Spheres procedures.

..and just to add some words I heard today :

" Love me when I deserve it least..that is when I need it most. "

Yes glad you bumped this up too...coincidentally I got this in an email this morning and thought I'd share:

"I thank you God for this most amazing day, for the leaping greenly
spirits of trees, and for the blue dream of sky and for everything
which is natural--which is infinite--which is yes."

I thought it was nice seeing so many smiling friends on here, even if they have past.

I always liked Justsings pict. She looks overjoyed.

I met Dorcus Cavett, Dick Cavett's step mother, after she had turned 80. I asked her what the best part of turning 80 was. She said

"I don't have to worry about dying young."

I know I can't wait to turn 80.

God is bigger than your cancer!
Cancer happens life goes on.
Life is what you make of it.
Don't let what you can't do stop you from doing what you can do.-John Wooden
If your going to do through hell don't stop keep going.-Winston Churchill
Yesterday is a history tomorrow is a mystery and today is a gift. That's why we call it the present.-B. Olatunji
You don't get to choose how you're going to die or when. You can only decide how you're going to live NOW.-Joan Baez
Begin doing what you want to do now.We are not living in an eternity. We only have this moment, sparkling like a star in our hand and melting like a snowflake.-M.B.Ray
When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry show life you have a thousand reasons to smile.
Remember the past, plan for the future, but live for today, because yesterday is gone and tomorrow may never come.
I like to pretend for that everything's is alright.Because when everybody thinks you're fine, sometimes you forget for a while your not.
The meaning of life is to give life a meaning.
Obstacles don't have to stop you.If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up.Figure out how to climb it,go through it or walk around it.
