November Exercise & Weight Loss Thread

I really needed some exercise, so even though the forecast was kind of iffy, I headed out for my usual 23-mile ride this afternoon. The sun was shining when I left, then it started to rain lightly. The, about halfway through the ride, it started to snow. Then it started to snow a lot. Big, wet flakes. I was getting soaked. Then it stopped. By the time I got home, the sun was shining again. The wind was blowing the snow sideways, so I did get a little cold, but it was still a good ride.

Sounds like the kind of ride that makes you swear at first and then you realize "I am feeling this snow because I'm ALIVE"!!! Love it :)

Me, I'm heading into an ultrasound on Monday to figure out how bad my achilles tendon really is. I've been banned from running, cycling, yoga. So I'm swimming and doing tons of roller work to keep my calves limber. Fun stuff.

I just read Lance Armstrong's bio and one of the things that resonated with me (and maybe with you too BrownBagger) is that if you can still move, you're still alive!

Cheers to exercise :)

Exactly! At this point in my life, I'm just grateful to be viable. Getting cold is another part of being alive. So I take a lot of satisfaction in that.

I have recently had surgery to repair an umbilical hernia, so exercise is limited. I have actually been told that I can't go to Salsa lessons or Yoga for two months! Walking, however, is allowed. I went for a 9 km walk this evening and loved every minute of it.

I don't think I will ever get to Brown bagger's level of fitness but, one step at a time.......

I read BB tour around the neighbourhood and laugh - it is halfmarathon :D and I am proud that I walk 2 hours a day    what a joke.
I hope cold will be just a boost for immunity nothing else. I can not believe how long rides you do every day.......it will be nice if this energy can be put in a wire for use as electricity in house  you can export some ...... (sorry but I can not resist  - I read how many miles it is in your signature)

Two miles is no joke! As I like to say, if it makes you breathe hard and break a sweat, it counts. It's all good.
