UNITED KINGDOM

At Maggie’s you can talk to, and get support from, a range of professional people.
Our Centres are staffed by Cancer Support Specialists, Benefits Advisors, Nutritionists
and Psychologists who can support you in whichever way best suits your needs

The first Maggie’s Centre opened in Edinburgh in 1996 and since then Maggie’s has
continued to grow, with 17 Centres at major NHS cancer hospitals in the UK, online and abroad.

Maggie’s provides free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer
and their family and friends, following the ideas about cancer care originally laid
out by Maggie Keswick Jencks

Who was Maggie Keswick Jencks?

Maggie Keswick Jencks lived with advanced cancer for two years. During that time she used her
knowledge and experience to create a blueprint for a new type of care. Maggie’s Centres are built
around her belief that people should not “lose the joy of living in the fear of dying”.

Hi Jaynee,

I am in California so can't help you with support groups in Atlanta. I have yet to find an in person one here. Your question about how to handle BM's at the work place isn't quite clear to me. Do you have a colostomy or poor control? You might want to ask that question in the general forum where more members would see it and possibly have more input for you.

Welcome to the group, I just joined a couple of days ago.

Good luck!
