Had hemicolectomy and loosening of adhesions to my spleen on Tuesday and was fortunate enough to meet all the criteria for discharge by Wednesday evening and went home. I am concerned that I have quite a bit of pain in one area on the right side - feels like something pulling and stretching to the point it may pop. Anyone else have that? And I was prescribed Percocet and even though it says 1-2 every 4-6 hrs and I am averaging about 6 a day, I feel like it may be too much. And I fear running out and still having pain. Also taking Colace 2 a day. Appetite has semi-returned. Ate two light meals yesterday, but feel much more thirsty than hungry.
Just want to know if I am on target from someone who has experienced this. Surgeon is OOT and I can only reach interns at this point, which is okay, but he knows what he did and they don't.
