Anyone have low white cell count after chemo??

Postby Nanette » Sun Apr 10, 2011 6:53 pm

Hi all-

Bruce just had his blood work done last Friday. His onc mentioned to him his HGB is on the low side, but within the range it's supposed to be. We also noticed his white cell count is low (below the normal range). We looked at all of his past lab reports and noticed his white cells are going down ever so slowly. Has anyone had a low white count months after being off chemo? And if this did happen to you, how did you get them back up? He's been done with chemo for 20 months. When he was getting chemo, he received the Neulasta shot every time and always was able to receive chemo. His onc did ask him if he had a colonoscopy and he did in December and all was good.

We're just curious why this would be happening. Thanks for any replies.
