Oh That sounds terrible.
When I had treatment with 5FU, I was very, very sick and had to be hospitalized similarly. After my body healed from that, my onc switched me to Xeloda - world of difference. I could tolerate it much better. When you heal, you may want to talk with him/her about that as an option. Also, have they determined whether it is that particular type of chemo that your body just can't tolerate but maybe another type it could?
I realize now may not be the time to bring all of this up but I didn't want to forget it!
