Re: SBRT vs Cryo for lung mets & Maint schedule

The folks I've seen with SBRT tore up a lot of real estate and didn't gain as much as other methods of removal might have. We favor oral chemo extended by mild adjuncts. Daily versions of Xeloda can be enhanced by various nicer adjuncts, with less side effects, guided by MCV and other bloodwork. Yo...

Re: SBRT vs Cryo for lung mets & Maint schedule

Hello everyone, A couple of nodules on my lungs have grown. I previously had cryo and got two years of time out of the procedure. The PET sees some avidity with one met having a higher SUV then before. I was thinking about cryo again but a second opinion doc weighed in that radiation seems to work ...

Re: Lung specialist at MSK or MDA? Advice, please.

I'm sorry you are dealing with more mets. I do not know about either place; I do know that UCLA has a powerhouse lung program. It is at that location cryo for pulmonary mets was pioneered. You see Saab and he is pretty knowledgeable and also quite flexible. I fly out this weekend to visit him. Also ...

Re: Bev G

I remember her as a wise old soul who's heart was big enough to pick up and take others along inside. She reach out to me with gentle and kinds words. I will say a pray for her tonight, because she is worthy of many prayers; and has no worries at all now. Peace and God Bless to you Bev. You were a l...

Re: A Low Carbohydrate, High Protein Diet Slows Tumor Growth and Prevents Cancer Initiation

Multiple diets exist that have cancer protective factors. The most important is to keep processed sugar out. Vegan, Paleo. etc. all seem to do that. Diets that reduce inflammation are helpful

If a person is diabetic and or obese; they are most high in the recurrence. B

Re: Possible for long term remission with only chemo?

Or am I doomed to die? This is weighing heavily on my mind lately. I constantly hear cure can only be achieved by cutting out the cancer. In my case, HIPEC would be my only solution to cutting out the cancer or do I have any other options to research? HIPEC is only successful in a very small percen...

Sorry you are having to deal with this. Neither profession IMO. Has your doc looked at scans for adhesions? With the gallbladder removed there is frequently modifications in diet needed (type of foods and not the quantity per se).

Re: Getting A Colonoscopy With (potential) Sleep Apnea

No it will not be a problem for the following reasons

You will be hooked up to a pulse ox to measure o2 saturation
If your o2 is low you will likely already be on oxygen which can be turned up
You will be lying on your side which provides improved breathing as opposed to on your back.

Re: any peeps with BRAF mutation on here?

Thanks Robino I wish the best for you as well. I will keep the post up with what’s happening S/E wise and any reports of how Mr. Ziggy is responding. I want to help others out there who might have this BRAFV600e mutation. I’m beyond thrilled your chemo is working! I think another variable involved ...
