Re: How did you first discover or got diagnosed with colorectal cancer ?

I had put off a colonoscopy for all the usual reasons. My husband and I were both 57 and he was planning to retire so we thought we should both get physicals, colonoscopy scheduled, dermatology checks, etc., while we still had decent health insurance. Right about that same time I noticed blood in my...

Re: This chemo is knocking me down

Ditto on the hydration. My oncologist put in a standing order for fluids for me since I had such a difficult time eating and drinking. I could call the infusion center and they would set me up for a liter of fluids as soon as they could fit me in.. Usually later afternoon when the other infusions we...

Re: Sigh! Nervous again

It's already a great feeling when the colonoscopy is over and everything looks good. So happy for you! I was told to come back after three years also. It will be two years for me in the spring...I will ask the doctor then if three years is too long. Although I think it takes a while for tumors to de...

Re: Ladies what did you do with your hair during chemo?

My genetic thin hair got woefully thinner during and after chemo. I decided I would skip the chemical exposure although I am sure it had nothing to do with my colon cancer.....I had highlighted my hair for years and years and was pretty much a blonde. So I let the highlights grow out and kept my hai...

I think that's wise to cut the oxy back. I hope your electric shocks subside soon.

Re: Strange new side effects with FOLFIRINOX

I developed L'Hermitte's sign a few weeks after the end of chemo. When I would bend my head down, electric shocks went down from my neck to my feet--painless, but pretty uncomfortable. It was during the worst of my neuropathy. As my neuropathy improved, the electric shocks disappeared. I still have ...

Re: Need prayers

I have only had the Miralax and Gatorade (3 times now) and have never found that to be terrible. It's not fun but doable. I use the lemonade flavored Gatorade.

Re: New Member

So sorry about your diagnosis. Your situation sounds a bit like mine. I had a routine colonoscopy and the doctor saw an irritated area that he thought was nothing.. Just inflammation from the prep. He took a biopsy and it turned out to be cancer. He was pretty certain we had caught it early and surg...

This is an ongoing problem for me too, and I am nearly three years out from my resection. I feel like it's diet related, but I can't pinpoint it.
