Stage III-C: Recent rise in CEA

... Also, are there any recent survival statistics or recurrence rates that have been posted? Sorry for the questions but as most people have commented, just worried... There are many Stage III-B patients here who successfully managed to avoid recurrences. They followed the Three Pillars of Survivo...

Another point: You should create a proper signature to go at the bottom of each of your future posts so that people can see the history and status without having to scroll back to previous posts where the details were originally mentioned. Signatures are limited to 512 characters, including spaces. ...

Re: Rise in CEA

Welcome to the forum. Here is some information on CEA. A 2019 overview of CEA (Carcinoembryonic Antigen) https://www.verywellhealth.com/carcinoembryonic-antigen-cea-797561 "In addition, CEA levels may not reflect what is happening with a tumor at the current time. As cancer cells die, CEA is re...

Re: List of chemo drugs approved for colorectal cancer (2021)

I might well be wrong here, but am I right in thinking the triplet protocol for CRC would be FOLFOXIRI, not FOLFIRINOX? Although the drugs are the same, the protocol dosages/frequencies are different, and I believe FOLFIRINOX is mainly used for pancreatic cancer. Rock_Robster - Thanks for the heads...

Re: Incision pain 12 days after surgery

Since you are still having pain and still asking for feedback, I think it would be good if you could provide a little more information in the following areas. This might help people focus on the problem. ⋅  Types of surgical procedures actually done on October 4 You said that you had a &qu...

Re: Telephone appointment with my GI

Question: When you were talking to the gastroenterologist, did he ask you whether you slept on your right side or on your left side? If you sleep on your left side, the heart will have an easier time pumping blood into the left ischemic colon.

Random Doctors

Thank you for the update. I'm sorry to hear that you are having to deal with "random doctors". In such circumstances you really need to start on a "Plan B" -- which you are already doing. The "Plan A" in your type health system is essentially a "one-size-fits-all&q...

Re: Telephone appointment with my GI

It's good that you had a pleasant phone call with the gastroenterologist.

Did you manage to get all of your questions answered satisfactorily?

Do you have enough information now to allow you to avoid ischemic crises in the future?

Re: Telephone appointment with my GI

I have a suggestion. Why don't you apply for a full-time job in Fredericton, so that you can have a better standard of living, more flexibility, and can then afford a wider range of health care options? Since you have good writing skills, computer skills, and experience with several social media pla...
