Re: Feeling like Ricochet Rabbit

Hi Scott, That can happen, and it has certainly happened to me, but I don't think it is strictly normal. I would definitely keep your doctor in the loop. Some people feel "activated" initially when taking an antidepressant and that feeling often goes away after several days. But, for other...

Re: Elevated Liver Panel.. Help.

It's pretty common to have elevated liver enzymes brought on by chemo, so that could be what's going on. I certainly had them, and I had the tests for hepatitis and a liver MRI. All the tests came out negative and my liver eventually returned to normal, but not until a few months after I finished ch...

Re: Signet Ring help?

I also felt uncomfortable that my doctors seemed sort of 'casual' (for lack of a better word) about the fact that I had SRC. I think it is just that they don't have any different drug treatments for SRC and they don't really know what to do differently. But that doesn't mean that you can't be more a...

Re: Signet ring cell questions

Hi, Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. As janklo said, the treatment for signet cell is the same as for other colon cancers. In addition to more frequent monitoring, you and your doctors might also choose to be more aggressive with treatment. For example, some stage II patients do not choose to do ...

Re: Starting second round of chemo and I'm scared.

Hi Joel, I haven't been where you are, so I hesitated to respond. Still I wanted to send you my best wishes. Also, I was thinking that if cancer progression is making you weak, the chemo might knock it back and lead to some improved strength. If you mention your concern when you meet with your oncol...

Re: PET/CT on Monday....

Hi Bev,

I'm sending prayers and chickens too! I understand -- I have survivor's guilt and then I feel guilty for having survivor's guilt. It makes no sense at all!

It's great that you are approaching three years!

Hi Toolguy,

I've been thinking about you since I saw this post yesterday. I'm sorry for what you are going through. I'm glad to hear your pain is gone, but so sorry you are having other symptoms. Here's hoping the chemo will turn things around once it's started.

Take care,

Re: Signet Ring Cell Folk

Oh, and also, I recall my oncologist saying that quite a bit more than 1% of her colon cancer patients had signet ring. She speculated that part of the reason might be that her patients tended to be younger than average, so I guess the same might apply here. It is just speculation though.
