Re: Maintenance Chemo?

Hi , This subject really interests me and only recently thought about enquiring what people's views were. My mother has been a stage 4 patient for 4 1/2years. Living in the uk we have a totally different health care system and at the point of diagnosis her oncologist with a leaning to research ( act...

Re: Who are the longest stage 4 survivor's on here?

Hi. My mother is 4 1/2 years from diagnosis and goodness knows how long before that. :? All on twelve cycles of chemo. Quite amazing if you ask me. Not really sure if she could handle the amount of chemo you heros endure. However her surgeons first liver resection patient is still alive. Twenty year...

Re: WORLD HAVE YOUR SAY

Hi Amy, Eventually managed to hear your contribution. I openly admit to only using two cancer forums and that is the end of my social media experience. Being private and not really needing too much feed back from others I survive quite nicely without twitter, facebook etc. However after reading your...

Re: CT Scan results (mCC)

Hi, Just want to welcome you to the forum. Glad you found us. I did read your dad's scan report but have not got the understanding how that equates with prognosis. However ,people here may be able to help you work out the best way to ask those questions from your dad's doctors if he wants to know. W...

Re: When cancer returns, is chemo just as effective?

Hello there, How was Christmas? Hope you have been managing ok on chemo. I can only share what my mother experienced but she did get the same outcome second time round. However she did have some pain management issues that required addressing. As chemo progressed towards the end of her two week cycl...

Hi. Thanks for that discription. We enjoy some great scenery too but I love hearing about other places. We are awash with rain on Christmas Eve but send our Christmas love to you all. I may even try and upload a photo of my mother six weeks after a liver resection kayaking for the first time on our ...

Hi,
Hate that you have to face this again. I had quietly been hoping it was just a poor scan. Very glad they can operate though. Thinking of you and your family. Love Stu

Re: Gone from looking positive to unsure of my future now

Hi Lisa, I think I tried Stu one night when I was having difficulty posting and he was sitting quietly beside me and before I knew it,it went through and I was transformed  This is where our treatment protocol differs . She had a further resection and has never had any post op chemo. Our polic...

Re: Gone from looking positive to unsure of my future now

HI , Not a problem at all. She had oxa through cannula and cap in tablet form . We are in Scotland and biological agents were not available to her when diagnosed. That is our treatment protocol and despite being a bit older than you she managed. :D The oxa infusion was the big guns in my opinion and...

Re: Gone from looking positive to unsure of my future now

Hi Lisa, Just my own opinion but I am inclined to think it has just become visible on the scan during a period without chemo. However what I think is really important is that your tumours respond well to treatment and that in itself can open up other treatment options and that can make the world of ...
